New to board

well hello all....yes...i'm a newbie.... and yep...i am an inactive witness.

haven't been to a meeting in a while.

my entire family are witnesses, actually had a relative that proclaimed to be of the 144000...thats how deep....this is third generation witnesses here in this family.

just joined this board, but not new to boards of this sort.. the board i favored most just changed and i haven't rejoined (mainly because it sux now).. i have heard about this board for awhile, but this is the first time i ventured in.

What is the point?

i am tired.. tired of thinking.

tired of wondering whether every issue or hangup i have as an adult is because of my cultish upbringing.

tired of not having a normal relationship with my mother, father and sister.

The thing is that I have been living a life outside the borg for so long - I do have a whole normal life, with good friends, celebrating holidays and so on.

Mostly I can deal with my family, but coming here makes me confront the past, and sometimes it just all gets a bit much. I probably will have to continue living in limbo so that my kids can have a semblance of a relationship with their grandparents.

I confronted my mom with my thoughts a couple of weeks ago and now the whole dynamic of our relationship has changed. I am no longer a lost soul that in time she can guide back. She now knows I have no intention of ever going back. And she agreed never to talk to me about going back as long as I dont talk about my reasons for not going back.

Now we have these small talk conversations where we ignore the proverbial elephant because if either of us mention it, that will be the end. How silly is that!

Anyway, thanks again for your support. I love you guys!

i am a bit of a yo yo dieter - i have been dieting ever since i was a teenager, and my role model for this was my mom of course.

in fact one of my very early memories of going shopping with mom and her buying a diet shake mix.

well... i have a little girl who is almost three and i have been thinking about things and i really need to break this cycle of crash diets, losing 5 kgs and picking up 10 once i have lost motivation.

**frustration** i've mentioned my cousin on here before - he is disfellowshipped for wrong doing (been out for a year now) and he's having a good old time, smoking, drinking, doing his thang.

however he still believes that the jws have the truth.. i have tried the tatical approach, asked "leading" questions, asked him to do a bit of research, shown him this site.

then i resorted to full out attack on their beliefs.

Hey Lou - maybe it will just take time? I left the org 12 years ago and led a "worldly" life , but only started really questioning things in the last year or two. I understand your frustrations though. I have friends (I posted about them the other day) and I so wish I could get them to see the light, but I guess each in their own time!

i have been seeing reports on this over the day so thought i would bring it here.. austrian man admits holding daughter captive.

an elderly austrian man has confessed to holding his daughter captive in a basement cell for 24 years and fathering seven children with her, police said monday.

the 73-year-old man allegedly held his daughter elisabeth, now 42, and three of their children in a soundproof chamber below an apartment block in amstetten, a town near the austrian alps.
